President and Commander-in-Chief of the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF), Dr Mohamed Muizzu, officiated the oath-taking and firearms presentation ceremony for the graduates of the 72nd and 73rd batches of the MNDF Basic Training Course.
A total of 255 graduates, comprising of 212 male and 43 female new recruits took oath at the ceremony held at K. Girifushi Parade Ground.
The Basic Training Course is designed to equip new recruits with the fundamental knowledge and skills required to serve across various military branches.
Its core objective is to cultivate disciplined, obedient, physically fit and patriotic soldiers who uphold high moral standards.
